I currently accept children, adolescents, and adults as self-pay clients. In order to provide accessible care, I offer a sliding scale fee per session determined during your initial consultation based on your financial circumstances.
At this time, I do not file for insurance reimbursement.
Many clients ask about insurance. There are several reasons why insurance coverage may not be in your best interest. In order to receive payment, insurance companies require therapists to provide them with a mental health diagnosis. This diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record and may interfere with your future plans as a "pre-existing diagnosis." Insurance companies may also limit your therapeutic options by restricting the number of sessions they will cover based on your diagnosis. I believe everyone can benefit from counseling and want you to have the freedom to determine your own counseling needs. This is often done best through an affordable self-pay system.
